The Vatican

Today, 6/23 we did the Vatican thing. We started out at St. Petes Square. waited in line for over an hour to get into the Vatican Museum. We did the museum pretty quickly except when we got to the Sistine Chaple. They dont allow phots in there so i had to be sneaky about it. The pics turned out really...well bad sorta. They were all at weird angles and most of them blurry but oh well. Then we went up the cupula to get o view looking over st. petes. The view up there was amazing. I couldnt really tell where vatican city and rome separated though, it all blended together. Then we went back down to St. Petes Square. St. Petes is elliptical shaped and surrounded by 4 rows of columns. The designer, Bernini i believe, made so that the columns radiate from these 2 foci and the columns in the back are a bit smaller. so when you stand at one of the foci you dont see all 4 rows just the first one...its really cool. Thats pretty much all for the vatican.
